New year, new jobs

It’s a testament to the Treyone name that even during the depths of the credit crunch, the orders for our kitchens kept coming in. Now, with a healthy order book for early 2010 we’ve expanded our team with two new workshop appointments. We’re especially pleased to be completing an apprenticeship for Josh Bartley. As a family-run firm, we believe strongly in the value of apprenticeships both to the individual and the wider community. Passing specialist skills on to future generations is essential to maintaining a thriving local economy and we’re proud to be a part of this.

Treyone cooks up boost to precious lives appeal

Kitchen specialists Treyone have celebrated raising £1200 for the Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Precious Lives Appeal with a fund raising kitchen party at their Liskeard showroom.    Their latest event attracted over 30 guests and provided an opportunity for those that have supported previous events and members of the Liskeard Friends of the CHSW to learn more about the work of the charity and their work to raise funds for a purpose built hospice in Cornwall near Porthpean for children with life limiting, or life threatening conditions. Once again expert Aga Chef David Pengelly entertained guests with his cooking skills and a further £273 was raised on the night through ticket sales and a luxury raffle.

Gwyneth McLoughlin, representing the Liskeard Friends of the CHSW said: “Since launching the appeal for our new children’s hospice for Cornwall we have been astounded by the generosity of people in Cornwall.  We’re delighted that local companies like Treyone take the work of the hospice into their hearts and do such magnificent work to help us towards our goal to raise five million pounds to build ‘Little Harbour’ whilst raising the profile of the Precious Lives Appeal.”

Treyone Managing Director Robin Doyle said: “During a trip to Little Bridge House we were impressed by the amazing work of the Children’s Hospice to support families across the South West.  We have chosen to support the CHSW and all of our Aga demonstration events raise money to help the charity realise its ambition for a children’s hospice in Cornwall.”

Treyone Runner Up for Neff Excellence Award.

Treyone's Liskeard showroom at Trebrown, just off the A38 next to Castle Motors, has been named as a runner up in a national industry award for their use of advertising & marketing to promote their high quality made-to-measure kitchens.  Treyone is one of only six Cornish companies to hold Neff MasterPartner status, which demonstrates the showrooms expertise in guiding clients through the process of buying Neff appliances.

Treyone's Managing Director Robin Doyle said: "Making it to the finals for such a well known industry award,  award alongside just two other businesses in the UK is a tremendous accolade for the team.  As a family run business we like to think that we offer a fresh approach to selling our products in a relaxed and friendly environment.  We display Neff appliances because their well designed, high quality range integrates so well with our kitchens.  Demonstrations from Neff Chefs and our own showroom team give our customers a real insight into how the appliances work and underline our personal approach to doing business."

Treyone designer Zoe Gething attended the award ceremony at the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

Treyone Runner Up for Cornwall Sustainability Award.

The green credentials of Treyone Woodcraft have impressed the judges of this year's Cornwall Sustainability Awards, who short listed the company for their Low Carbon Business Award, sponsored by Community Energy Plus. Over the past year Treyone has taken practical steps to make its operations greener, cut carbon emissions and save thousands of pounds in energy bills at the same time recycling timber off-cuts into fuel for heating, which prompted the company to enter this year's Cornwall Sustainability Awards. The purpose of the awards is to encourage, reward and gain recognition for some of the excellent work Cornish businesses are doing to improve their sustainability. Treyone were delighted to be presented with the runners up certificate by Dick Strawbridge who said "It was great to see such high standards and innovation amongst all the contestants and winners. I realise only too well that "being green" takes belief, planning and investment but the rewards are great not just environmentally but economically, so today plays a key part in the process of encouraging people along their eco-journey".

Treyone Opens New Look Truro Showroom.

The showroom has recently been updated with three new kitchens to show our versatility for creating high quality contemporary designs as well as the traditional styles we are so well known for. Some of the best parties happen in the kitchen and culinary theatre provided by a Neff demonstration chef ensured that the relaunch evening in December went with a festive swing. New designs on display include a square panelled shaker style in oak which has been brought right up to date with the latest trends including glass splashbacks; a painted ash kitchen for cosy country kitchens, and for those that want to make a strong style statement there is a striking handleless Zebrano veneer kitchen.
