DECEMBER 2008

The green credentials of Treyone Woodcraft have impressed the judges of this year's Cornwall Sustainability Awards, who short listed the company for their Low Carbon Business Award, sponsored by Community Energy Plus. Over the past year Treyone has taken practical steps to make its operations greener, cut carbon emissions and save thousands of pounds in energy bills at the same time recycling timber off-cuts into fuel for heating, which prompted the company to enter this year's Cornwall Sustainability Awards. The purpose of the awards is to encourage, reward and gain recognition for some of the excellent work Cornish businesses are doing to improve their sustainability.

Treyone were delighted to be presented with the runners up certificate by Dick Strawbridge who said "It was great to see such high standards and innovation amongst all the contestants and winners. I realise only too well that "being green" takes belief, planning and investment but the rewards are great not just environmentally but economically, so today plays a key part in the process of encouraging people along their eco-journey".
