After purchasing this property, our client set about undertaking a full refurbishment to bring it up to date and better fit their style. With stunning and dramatic open sea views from the windows, the new kitchen aesthetic took inspiration from this, and reflected it through the use of carefully selected colours, textures and materials.
A large sweeping curved peninsula dominates yet softens the scheme, and leads you into the heart of the kitchen and dining area. It also serves to provide a much-needed functional surface for food preparation, something which was lacking in the previous kitchen. The pure, clean lines of the contemporary handless units, are paired with feature wood grained cupboards and accents to add interest and texture. The worktop selected has a blue / grey base tone, which is highlighted in the coloured glass splashbacks, and peninsula panel. The client also felt that the bold design and texture of the worktop is reminiscent of sandy and pebble beaches.
The scheme flows through into the dining area, where a variety of storage solutions are combined to create a unique feature wall, giving options for the display of artwork, books and the storage of wine bottles – Sarah Malloy, Designer (Treyone Truro, Cornwall)
