The clients approached Treyone to create a statement feature bar for their games room, as part of a new conversion at their property. The room benefited from generous natural light and contemporary features, such as a bespoke walnut staircase.
The design of the bar was purposefully kept pure and sleek, to allow the quality and beauty of the materials to shine through. A floating timber shelf slices through the bar counter, and the stunning glossy Dekton stone cladding reveals its depth of colour under the accent lighting. Rough cut oak veneer units in an asymmetric design lend a contemporary edge and are toned to complement the colours within the stone cladding and other existing room features.
With a young family, the bar needed to have flexibility and the ability to perform numerous functions for family gatherings. Alongside the bottle coolers, we also installed a compact oven/microwave to enable light food to be prepared away from the main kitchen, and the addition of a Fisher & Paykel Cool drawer, which can be switched from freezer to fridge or a larder store at the touch of a button, enables the storage of ice, upright open bottles or food, depending upon the occasion.
A striking and successful outcome for a very social space. – Sarah Molloy, Designer (Treyone Truro, Cornwall)
