This kitchen occupies a very generous space, so the design had to consider furniture proportions seriously. Somewhere to cook, socialise and enjoy Salcombe’s uninterrupted, breathtaking sea views – a place for entertaining and unwinding, with a colour scheme that brings the outside in.

The curved ends to both tall banks of the furniture helped flow between the adjacent rooms whilst providing much-needed discrete storage. The Elica Diva extractor is discreet and also provides task lighting around the cooking area. We used a thick character oak breakfast bar to break up the large surface area of the island.

We created an upholstered bench for casual sitting with integral towel storage to the right of the kitchen and adjacent to the pool room.

High-level display boxes utilised the more difficult-to-reach spaces and were backlit with the same ‘sea blue’ bespoke light sheet behind the sink area.

A utility space tucked away behind the kitchen provides overspill storage and preparation areas. It also accommodates two washing machines and a tumble dryer.
Southsands Contemporary

We installed a drinks area on the ground floor that disappeared neatly behind pocket doors when out of use. We worked with the client’s interior designer to ensure that everything we provided tied in seamlessly with the planned scheme, helping to create an award-winning property in the South Hams.”
