Our clients wanted to create a family retreat that possessed a sense of tranquillity – very much like the surroundings of the plot itself. A contemporary scheme with a subtle twist of arts and crafts to compliment their love of bespoke, hand-made items.

We looked at the flooring they had chosen for the entire ground floor area and explored elements that would work harmoniously with it. Starting with our signature ‘Moonshadow Tint’ (a specialist Treyone finish that creates a light wash to all the oak elements), which tonally matched their existing freestanding pieces of furniture. The Little Greene ‘Rolling Fog’ painted doors introduced a level of contrast, whilst still providing a sense of calm and the  Laminam ‘Calcatta Michelangelo’ worktops provided a level of durability where they did not need to concern themselves with heavy use.

Our clients sourced some hand made stools from Me & East in Totnes, which tied-in seamlessly with the design. The black band sandwiched in the middle of the the seats were specified to pick up the small selection of black hardware elements in the kitchen – Handles, taps and sink wastes were all specified in a matt black finish, whilst the ‘Tartufo’ finished Blanco sinks matched the furniture door colour.
