This new build kitchen in Cornwall is our 3^rd project for our client. Working with existing clients is even more special, as a designer you already know how they work and what they want out of the kitchen in practical and social aspects. This makes for a seemless, stress free and fun process allowing even more time to be put into the materials, style and aesthetics.

Our client wanted plenty of functional worktop space for the cooking and preparation yet wanted it to link to accessible, cosy dining area with a separate area for casual bar stool seating. We did this with a peninsular U-shaped layout, the peninsula divided up the areas and created the perfect bar stool space as an island would.  Working with Justin from Gaff we designed an upholstered seating arrangement using a mix of the materials brought through from the kitchen and softened with his velvet upholstery.

Hawa slide away doors installed in the breakfast cupboard keep free movement in a busy area. Groove detailing on the wall units and back panel bring a change to the textures, vertical lines echoed in the reeded glazed door on the tall built in drinks cupboard.

Designer’s note:
I’ve worked closely with this client for over three years — from the first architectural drawings to final installation. We’ve laughed, cried, shared countless conversations, and always found common ground. The result is a kitchen that feels genuinely personal: beautifully practical and truly designed for family life.
