Porth In Frame Shaker
Whilst refurbishing areas of their stone barn conversion, the clients approached Treyone to create a bespoke kitchen that would be sympathetic to the period of their property, enhance the character, and create a functional space for entertaining family and friends. Using a traditional in frame shaker style, we created bold features using generously proportioned units and strong colors, which wouldn’t be dominated by the high vaulted ceiling.
Touches of oak used on the drawer fronts and hammered pewter handles help to add warmth and texture. A new Everhot range cooker forms the main focal point for the kitchen, and we have framed this with an oak canopy and a hand-finished antique mirror glass splashback. A large central island makes a bold statement, with its chunky glossy worktop and chamfered corner posts. However, the real jewel within this scheme is the large drinks cabinet at the end of the room. Bi-fold doors open wide to reveal an impressive interior with bespoke oak ledges and wine glass suspension, designed specifically to fit the size of the client’s glassware. All of this is enhanced by the antique mirror and concealed lighting. A beautiful and unique piece of furniture ideal for entertaining. – Sarah Malloy, Designer (Treyone Truro, Cornwall)
